China firms are using Mexico as a backdoor to the US markets

Scores of Chinese companies have bult or are building industrial parks and factories in Mexico to deliver goods into the US market using the free trad agreement the US has with Mexico to avoid tariffs and sanctions.. The products being produced and trucked into the US includes furniture, refrigerators, machinery, heavy construction equipment, solar panels and soon BYD automobiles.

  1. Man Wah Furniture Manufacturing: This Chinese company has built a $300 million factory in northern Mexico. The factory produces reclining armchairs and leather sofas for US retailers like Costco and Walmart.

The total investment in this park amounts to $1 billion over the past three years.
