Best non-fiction essay I read this year YOU OWE ME

Here is the site for an essay you must read called “You Owe Me.” My daughter read it to me in the car on the way to a holiday event. It is written by Miah Arnold who teaches creative writing to children with cancer at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston Texas and the essay was published in a book of 2012 Best American Essays. It reminded me of my shortcomings and how much we can be doing for children, if we want to. It reminded me of the unfairness of disease and how we cannot fix some illnesses like we can fix a car or broken table. It made me think of my own mortality. Despite all this, it is worth reading and perhaps a re-read, which I am about to do. Here is the link:Œ http://www.michiganquarterlyreview.com/2012/04/you-owe-me-selected-by-2012-best-american-essays/
