CIA, Pentagon ordered to re-investigate whistleblower retaliations

The intelligence community inspector general, a government watchdog has ordered the CIA and the Pentagon to re-investigate retaliation allegations of intelligence employees who accused their agencies of major institutional failings.

The is the first public indication that a new appeals system is underway. The panel, set up by the President as an independent forum that can determine whether whistleblowers were improperly fired or punished for legitimate disclosures against their agencies.

The whistleblower system continues to be plagued with bias and bureaucratic delays despite Congressional efforts to make it fair.
