Decongestant in cold medicines doesn’t work FDA panel says

The New York Times has published an article which says that an advisory panel to the FDA agreed that a common decongestant ingredient in many over the counter cold medicines in not effective. The drug is called phenylephrine and is found in products such as Tylenol, Mucinex and Benadryl and about 247 more products.
