EXCHANGE STUDENT FROM KAZAKHSTAN PLEADS GUILTY TO MEDICARE FRAUD THROUGH BOGUS CLINIC

A foreign exchange student from Kazakhstan pleaded guilty to creating fake companies which he used to defraud Medicare. Kamoliddin Akramov, 21 was in the U.S. on a J1 visa when he set up fake companies in St. Louis, Tennessee and California, stole the identitles of several medical doctors and submitted thousands of reimbursement claims to the Medicare Program for non rendered services. He faces up to ten years in prison. It is an example of how easy it is to defraud Medicare.
