ORACLE AGREES TO PAY U.S. $199 MILLION TO RESOLVE WHISTLEBLOWER LAWSUIT FOR OVERCHARGING

Oracle Corporation and Oracle America have agreed to pay $199.5 million plus interest for failing to meet contractual obligations to the GSA and knowingly failing to provide discounts it had disclosed. The case alleged that Oracle failed to comply with price reduction clauses of its GSA contract by not disclosing discounts it had given to commercial customers. Paul Frascella, the whistleblower, will receive $40 million as his share of the recovery on the case under the False Claims Act.
