U.S. probing TuSimple trucking over 24 Nvidia chips to see they were to be sent to China

According to an article in the Wall Street Journal, San Diego based the TuSimple, trucking company to see whether it sent advanced semiconductor chips out of the U.S. ultimately to China. Recently thecompany sent the 24 Nvidia advanced semiconductors to Australia. The Commerce Department halted the shipment to probe whether the company planned to send the chips to China in violation of export controls. The U.S. restricted selling them to China to prevent their use in China’s military, The FBI,, the Securities and Exchange Commission and a national security panel have opened  probes on whether TuSimple was illegally transferring technology to China.

TuSimple Holdings was a leader in U.S. autonomous trucking development. It was the first to conduct driverless pilot about two years ago. first to conduct a driverless pilot two years ago. This month, TuSimple said it was delisting from Nasdaq and going private, effectively removing itself from future disclosure obligations.

Another article in the WJS, said that The Justice Department has been urged by representatives of a U.S. national-security panel to consider economic-espionage charges against leaders of the company with ties to China, according to people familiar with the matter.
